How to Find Direction When You Feel Completely Lost

Person standing at the edge of a path, looking ahead with a small light or lantern

When you feel lost, every choice can feel paralyzing.
You wonder:
• Where do I even start?
• What if I choose wrong?
• How do I know what’s right for me?

The truth is, you don’t have to figure it all out at once.
You just need a starting point.

Step 1: Stop Looking for the “Perfect” Path

Perfectionism will keep you stuck.
Instead of hunting for the flawless plan, ask:
-> What feels possible today?
-> What’s one small experiment I can try?

Small moves create momentum.

Step 2: Follow the Pull, Not the Pressure

There’s a difference between what you think you should do and what quietly pulls your heart. Tune in. Notice what sparks curiosity or energy, even if it feels small.

Step 3: Set a Short-Term Anchor

You don’t need to map the next five years.
Set a short-term anchor:
• A project
• A learning goal
• A commitment to show up, just for now

Direction grows out of motion.
You’re allowed to figure it out as you go.
